| | Ran 3 miles...Just as bad a Sunday. I wish I would of kept some kind of base from my Flying Pig training. I would of made this a ton easier. I'm excited to get back into running shape though. |
| | Did a 6 mile bike ride today. I haven't rode a bike 6 miles since grade school. Riding a bike is going to help me get my legs stronger and it is going to help me with the cardio. I think I am going to continue riding until the snow starts falling. |
| | Well, here I go again. In January of 2007 when I finished the Disney marathon I swore I would never run again. 3 marathons later I am about to start training on my fourth. I set the goal pretty high this time though. I want to qualify for Boston. I am not real confident that I can do it but I am going to give if everything I got. My offical training doesn't start until Labor day but I began my pre-training runs today. It wasn't all bad but I can't wait until I am no longer sucking wind. I imagine that is going to take a couple of weeks. | |
| | Rode bike for 6 miles. With all the hills around me that will help me get in great shape. |
| | Ran 3 miles in the pouring rain. Ran some small hills (actually bridges) Ran from my office to Paul Brown Stadium to Great American Ballpark back accross the suspension bridge. I felt pretty good! I know people were driving by me thinking "that guy is an idiot." I am glad I ran though because I would be thinking how I am already breaking my commitment. I have a huge task ahead of me and I have to stay dedicated. | |
| | Ran 3 miles again and started doing sit ups and push ups yesterday. My chest and stomach are in pain! |
| | Only 2 miles today. Going to do 4 tomorrow morning and will do 4 for most of next week. My "official" training starts 8/24 so I have to build up to 30 miles per week since the first week is 33 miles which includes a 10 mile run. I am curious to see if I will be ready for it. |
| | I bought and started running with a heart rate monitor. I need to get a stress test to figure out what my max heart rate is. I ran a 5k last Friday on a hilly course. Granted I ran faster than I should of (21:00) but my heart rate at one point was 203! How in the world am I going to increase my time over the length of a marathon if I am maxing out my heart rate. I ran 4 miles today and my average heart rate was 173. |
